Gaiam chair, not bad Sep 07, 2010 I have had major shoulder problems over the years and after many doctor's visits, weight lifting, and chiropractor suggestions, I was hoping that this chair would make a difference in my back posture as I sit at my desk most hours of the day. I noticed a difference right away, especially since I am not able to cross my legs as I sit, and I sit up straighter as to balance myself on the chair. I did experience a bit of lower back soreness the first week, probably from muscles in my back being used to support myself. Overall the chair seems to help me sit up straighter, however it is easy to still lean forward or slouch if I do not pay attention to my posture. This is not a 100% fix to my shoulder pain and posture, but it seems to be helping strengthen my core and back a bit.
Great Chair!!!! Aug 31, 2010 I love this chair! I tried 6 or 7 different types of chairs until I tried this one. It is the one I am sticking with. I am 5'8" & the chair is plenty high for me. It even has room for more air to be added but the heigth is perfect now for me. I have been using it every day for 6-8 hrs a day for about 3 weeks now, really like it. It does not cut off my circulation to my legs. Easy to assemble.
Perfect Aug 31, 2010 This chair is perfect. It was so easy to put together I didn't even need the instructions. The size was perfect for my height. I love this chair!
Be careful! Aug 28, 2010 I love my new chair - but notice a chance to really hurt yourself. If you are used to using exercise balls, you typically reach down and steady the ball before you sit down on it. Well I have nearly caught my finger between the bar you see in the picture across the front of the chair and the ball. When you are not in the chair there is a small gap between the bar and the bar. Then when you sit down the ball expands and presses quite firmly against the bar. So as I said be careful especially if you have little ones around when you are in the chair. My two cents!Gaiam Balance Ball Chair (Black)
It is okay Aug 13, 2010 I like this chair. It works well for short periods of time, but over a long (eight hours) time it can wear you down or cause soreness. It builds the muscles in your lower back. So it is worth the purchase.
