2Slipping around  Jun 12, 2010
This mat is fantastic if you don't get sweaty palms. When you lay/sit/stand on it you feel grounded and stable. It's thin and hard, but you're still comfortable. However I can't do my sun celebrations on it, as after 5 min I can't keep stable in the downward-facing dog, my feets and hands glides away from each other; no matter how I've been washing it, it dosen't help.
The mat is also very heavy as it's very dense, but this dosen't matter much to me, as I'm mainly using it at home.

Im sorry, but I have to resell this mat.

love the stickness of the mat, but too thin...i am not a big woman, but everything hurts on this mat. i saved up for it ,and now have it for sale, after one use, in the local paper...sorry

3Pretty good...  Dec 17, 2009
This mat promises to be "virtually slip free" which it is not. They also have a 1800 number to call if you're unsatisfied for any reason, which I have yet to call but will regarding the slip factor. Other than that, it's a reeeealy solid mat. It's oversized and heavy but I'm getting used to that. It's nice to have the extra area so your arms don't hang off the mat in shivasana. It's also made of all natural materials and just feels good to the touch. Right now I use a small towel in downward dog to get rid of the slip, so with the towel there my yoga experience has greatly improved since buying this mat.

2Sticky, Slippery, Smelly, and Hard  Nov 23, 2009
This mat didn't work out for me.

Pros:
-The 30" width really is great for some poses (I'm 6' 5" with fairly broad shoulders)
-The materials are biodegradable.

Cons:
-It's the smelliest mat I've owned out of the package. I didn't keep it long enough to find out how well it dissipates.
-I found the mat to be too grippy when dry and too slippery when wet
-At my height, I don't like giving up the 85" length of my other mat
-Too thin and hard for my 230lb body.
-A large (maybe 3" X 4") label stitched into the middle of the mat. I found this to be obnoxious but I'm pretty anti-conspicuous label. What's next, Ed Hardy yoga mats?

5I love this mat!  Sep 16, 2009
As a yoga instructor, I spend a lot of time on my mat so it is important to me that I have the right one. Also, my hands get sweaty during my practice and I have problems with them slipping on most mats. So I have been on a quest for the perfect mat (for me) for about 2 years now and have accumulated quite the mat collection but I am happy to say that my quest is finally over! The Revolution is firm, dense, and even though there is not much texture, it is sticky and slip resistant. Yes, it is heavy (5 lbs.) and pricey but the weight doesn't bother me. I also really enjoy the size of it. It seems like I am practicing on acreage rather than a little strip of land. Why hasn't someone thought of this before? It seems so logical that our mats should be large enough that we don't do half of our practice off of them. I have recommended this mat to my students who are open to a larger investment in their yoga practice and have no regrets in my purchase of this mat!
